Privacy Notice

Prototype version · Updated 23 August 2026

This is a sample privacy notice for a showcase website, not legal advice and not a production privacy program. Replace it with a reviewed, organisation-specific notice before collecting real personal data.

Our promise

KrishiStack is designed so farmers can keep control of their farm information. We collect only what is needed for a clear service, explain why we need it, and do not sell personal data.

Data we may process

If a real service is launched, the data may include a farmer’s name, contact number, language preference, farm location, crop details, soil records, device readings, photographs, service choices, and consent history. We will show an itemised notice before asking for data.

Why we use data

Consent and choice

Where consent is the basis for processing, it should be clear, specific, informed, and as easy to withdraw as it is to give. Farmers should be able to review what is shared with each provider, stop sharing, and move to another provider without losing their own record.

Sharing with providers

We share only the data needed by a chosen provider for the chosen service. A provider must not receive another provider’s data merely because both serve the same farmer. Grouped community signals must not expose an individual farm or person.

Access, correction, deletion, and export

A real KrishiStack service should provide a simple way to access records, correct inaccurate details, download portable records, request deletion when legally permitted, and raise a complaint. Requests should be handled through an accessible in-app, SMS, or field-worker process.

Security and retention

We would use appropriate technical and organisational safeguards, role-based access, audit records, and retention limits. Personal data should be deleted or anonymised when the stated purpose ends, unless retention is required by law.

Children and sensitive situations

Any production service must implement the additional safeguards required for children and should avoid collecting more information than necessary from vulnerable users.

Questions and complaints

This showcase does not collect requests or provide support. A production notice must identify the responsible organisation, provide an accessible grievance channel, and explain escalation options.
